In this next entry, I intend to talk about the Full Tilt Poker bonus where the site gives you 100% of what you deposit up to $600. This bonus is a useful way for all players to pad the bankroll when they're at the tables on FullTilt.com.
Once you do a Full Tilt Poker download and put in your bonus code, you can now think about earning your new bonus. Be prepared to grind a little to clear this bonus. How long it’ll take to clear it can range depending on your preferred stakes. The bonus is unlocked at a rate of $0.06 per Full Tilt Point (FTP), which you earn by participating in Full Tilt's real money games. So, let's say you bought in for $600 and got your $600 bonus. It will take a total of $600/$0.06 = 10,000 FTPs in order to clear the entire bonus. Now if you play cash games, you will need to keep in mind that for each dollar taken in rake, every player that received cards for that hand will receive 1 point. So you must generate a rake of $10,000 if you want to claim the entire package while participating in cash games, which is not as much as it sounds.
If your standard game has been on play money poker sites, you might want to take it slow at first, but you’d expect that the more money that's at stake, the faster the bonus will clear. If you spend time at $25 No Limit, you will need around 156,187 hands of Full Ring or 108,652 hands of 6-max to collect the complete bonus. If you're more of a $50NL kind of person, it will take you a grand total of something like 75,727 hands of Full Ring or 55,533 hands of 6-max play to earn your prize. Don't forget that these are extreme totals calculated and that in reality, no player will play only one type of game like that. These projections can at least serve as a guideline, though.
Things are a bit different if you mostly play MTT poker. Every $1 raked yields you 7 FTP. For example, if you play $10+$1 tournaments, you will need to play 1,428 events if you want clear your whole bonus. Bump it up to the $20+$2 level, and the total reduces dramatically: you would only need to enter 714 matches.
If you know what you’re getting into, obtaining the bonus cash isn’t overly difficult. Plus if you are new to real money poker sites, the extra money is a fantastic way to pad your bankroll. Be sure to table select diligently, get dealt a lot of hands, and make sure to have fun. Something to remember is that you receive 120 days from the day you make your Full Tilt download to receive the full bonus.
